"Most people don't realize how important librarians are. I ran across a book recently which suggested that the peace and prosperity of a culture was solely related to how many librarians it contained. Possibly a slight overstatement. But a culture that doesn't value its librarians doesn't value ideas and without ideas, well, where are we?" ~Neil Gaiman (via thoughtsdetained)

Mrs. Blaskiewicz's Environmental Science Research Project

How large of a footprint do you leave on Earth's resources

Analyzing Ecological Footprints Project:  Your individual ecological footprint is an estimate of the total land or sea required to produce food, materials, and energy necessary to maintain your level of resource consumption.

Using the SCSD Culture Grams Database, research information on the two countries you have chosen. You will compare the ecological footprints of people living in other countries and research the differences in lifestyle of two countries to discover the important factors in calculating an ecological footprint.   Once recorded, you will use the data to compare the ecological footprints of two countries.

Next, you will consider what you might do to reduce the size of your ecological footprint.
