We are back on Library Links!

I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I pulled up the Library Links to find that my Library blog is back on the Library Links Nottingham page after the new updates!!!! So, I am back in blogging business and I must say I am happy to be here!!!

To get us started, I want to take a couple of minutes to mention the integration of the Empire State Information Fluency Continuum or the IFC for short. The IFC identifies information literacy standards, indicatiors for each standard and the skills the students should develop.

At the base of the IFC is inquiry. The model that empowers the student to follow their sense of wonder into new discoveries and insights about the way the world works is the Cycle of Inquiry and Learning.

Over the course of the year, you will see more references and projects developed around the IFC as the Library Media Center immerses deeper and deeper into the continuum.

We look forward to sharing our progress with you so please check back on us and celebrate our success.

If you would like to view the IFC online, please search Empire State Information Literacy Continuum. (fyi- for some reason the link would not post).
