A visit from alumni and cameraman Andy Italiano

Nottingham alumni, Andy Italiano, rescheduled his plans to head home and spent two days working with students and staff checking the cameras and equipment in the Nottingham TV studio off the Library in hopes to get us up and running again. Mr. Italiano talked to students about the traditional 3 camera lighting system and tested almost every piece of equipment in the studio. The experience was a success as we are closer to getting this operation off the ground.

A special THANK YOU to our artist in residence- Jolene! Jolene has donated many hours and supplies to painting a new mural on the wall as you enter the LMC. We have received many compliments on the mural and how it creates an inviting environment! Thank you, Jolene!!!

What is digital storytelling?  Digital Storytelling applies computer-based tools to traditional storytelling using images, music, video, text, and narration to express a point of view. Rooted in the foundation of the storytelling process, digital storytelling allows the author to further express his or her story in a digital medium. Just as a playwright tells his or her story on a stage, or a writer creates a story to be told on film, digital storytelling is an extension of the writing process.

Prezi Strengths and Weaknesses

PhotoPeach is a very basic digital story telling tool. It allows the creator to upload pictures and add a sub title to each slide. There is a quiz option too for a fun new way to give a quiz. This is the easiest storytelling tool we have found so far and everyone we have used it with has loved it!
