Option 2: Assassinations

The assassination of Julius Caesar is one of several well-known political assassinations throughout history.

1. Have students research and create a project on other political assassinations, such as that of Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria in 1914, which was a contributing factor to World War 1. They may also research the several attempts made to assassinate Adolf Hitler during World War II. Or they may choose to research one of the four American presidents who have been assassinated: Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley, and Kennedy.
2. Develop a thesis and support this thesis with evidence from primary and secondary sources.
3. Create a presentation that includes photographs, illustrations, maps, or charts.

9th Grade Unit 4 Final Humanities Project:
Renaissance vs. Today

Research Topic: 
There are many important differences and similarities between the Renaissance art, medicine, and culture and present day art, medicine and culture.

Examine the similarities and differences between the Renaissance culture and present day American culture.  We will research different aspects such as medicine, art, and social structures. 

Your presentation will be a PowerPoint presentation with 1-12 slides that will include:

• pictures
• T chart/ Venn Diagram
• text

You will develop a thesis, and then research at least four different articles or websites/ databases to locate information on the topic and evidence to prove your thesis. 



This project will be due by or before Friday, May 15.
